The Truman Foundation will host an Open House for the 2026 application cycle this Wednesday, October 8 at 2:00 pm ET.

The Open House is a great opportunity to get basic information about the scholarship as well as hear from recent scholars about their experience. The session is appropriate for 2026 applicants as well as potential applicants. This Open House features Truman Scholars discussing the program and what they look for in our Scholars. Check it out! Catherine Kish ’24 Named a Truman Scholar

Congratulations to Catherine Kish ’24 who was selected as a 2023 Truman Scholar! As one of 62 new Truman scholars, Catherine joins an outstanding group of college juniors poised to become leaders in public service. Each Truman Scholar receives funding for graduate studies, leadership training, career counseling, and special internship and fellowship opportunities within the federal government. Congratulations to Middlebury’s Truman Finalists!

Three Middlebury juniors were selected as finalists for the Truman Scholarship! Congratulations to Jacob Freedman ’21, Divya Gudur ’21, and Oscar Psychas ’21! These students were three of the 190 Truman finalists from 136 colleges and universities, selected based on their records of leadership, public service and academic achievement. The Foundation received 773 applications from 316 colleges and universities. Finalists will be interviewed by the Foundation’s Regional Review Panels in March and April. 

Nov 8 Internal Deadline for Truman, Beinecke, Goldwater, St. Andrews

The internal deadline is fast approaching!

If you are considering applying for nomination for the Truman, Beinecke, Goldwater or St. Andrews Scholarship, now is the time to organize your application and ask questions.

Beinecke: Current junior studying humanities, arts, social sciences; US citizen receiving financial aid

Goldwater: Current sophomore or junior planning a research career in science; US citizens

St. Andrews: Seniors interested in post-graduate study in Scotland who receive financial aid; US Citizen

Truman: Current junior interested in public affairs or public service; US citizen

Each has specific eligibility requirements (citizenship, GPA, financial aid, professional/educational plans) so read carefully!
