Note the early deadlines for 2011-12, so heed their advice to START EARLY.  Come see me or let me know of your intent to apply by June 1:  agibansm@middlebury.edu, x 5103.  I look forward to hearing from you.

British Scholarships Tip

For those juniors (or aspiring sophomores) interested in pursuing a British Scholarship, you may want to check out these two links to help you narrow your search for the right UK institution that best matches your interests and needs:

The Complete University Guide provides institutional profiles, as well as Tables and Rankings that sort and assess institutions overall and by subject, using nine quality factors:  http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/

The 2008 RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) provides quality ratings for research across all disciplines at UK institutions.  Panels use a standard scale to devise Tables of Excellence to rank institutions overall and by subject quality.  The Tables rank according to the percentage of faculty who are conducting “world leading” research or scholarship and how much of the work is judged to reach national or international levels of excellence.  http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/Journals/THE/THE/18_December_2008/attachments/RAE_2008_THE_RESULTS.pdf
Both of these resources can be found on the Marshall Scholarship website: http://www.marshallscholarship.org/

If you are interested in pursuing a British Scholarship but missed the meeting last night, you can make an appointment to see me.  Note that two of the deadlines are in early September so you need to be preparing now.
