Welcome

We are a club team at Middlebury that competes against other club and varsity teams in and around New England. We belong to the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) which is our division of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA). The team is one of the Tier 1 Club Sports at Middlebury, which means we compete at the highest level of Club Sports. The team attends 2-3 regattas each weekend in the fall and spring seasons. We are funded as a club sport through the Student Government Association (SGA) and actively fundraise to augment our budget each season. We practice Monday through Thursday from 3:00-6:30pm each week during the season and have about 25 active racing members on the team. In addition, we do many team events off the water and in the offseason.

The team has grown significantly in the last couple of years and is now consistently racing in many of the top NEISA regattas. We are currently the 6th ranked club team in New England and fight to be in the top 18 in all of NEISA each season. We have qualified for the Nationals Qualifier Regatta in each of the last two seasons and we look forward to continued success this season.

We sail at the brand new Hopper Family Sailing Pavilion on Lake Champlain in Panton, VT. This facility is for the exclusive use of our sailing team and provides a great training venue for us. We also host the annual Stuart Walker Trophy, which is a NEISA C level regatta. In addition, we have hosted the New England Dinghy Tournament and the Little 3 regatta. It is an incredible site to host regattas and we believe it has the best views in college sailing!

This season we are raising funds for a new set of modern boat platforms for our fleet of FJs! We need around $45K to purchase 8 boat platforms, plus an additional $10K to replace our aging sails.
