To be eligible for participation in the study, you must:
- Be from one of the following countries*: China, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Japan, Nigeria, Iran, Turkey, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Thailand, Italy, Russia, Singapore, Ghana, Egypt, or Kenya (Note you may live in other countries at the time of the interview).
- Spent a minimum of 2 years studying at a U.S. higher education institution as an international student
- Completed their U.S. studies in or prior to 2020
- Identify as an LGBTQIA+ individual at any point in their life
- Be willing and feel safe to participate in this research project (protocols will be sent in advance for your consideration)

Note: The *countries selected for this study are based on Open Doors data on the leading places of origin for international students since 2018/2019, cross referenced with ILGA’s rankings of countries that have limited protection, no protection, or criminalization of “consensual same-sex acts between adults.”
