Performance Improvisation: Dance, Music, Light

“Musicians, dancers, and lighting designers from the Performance Improvisation course collaborate in the age-old tradition of composition/improvisation to create these two evenings of dance/theatre on the spot. A semester spent with Michael Chorney, Penny Campbell and Jennifer Ponder investigating the aesthetics of improvised performance and learning to meet its demands underlies this risky business. Our motto: Improvisation IS composition. Come watch us prove we can do it!”

So, what’s this blog about?

Welcome to the Posse at Middlebury blog!

This is a space for me, a space for you, a space where we can all safely share our thoughts, continue important conversations, and connect with one another beyond the Posse Plus Retreats and beyond the frequent but brief hello’s and goodbye’s as we rush across campus for this or that thing.

Posse Scholars will use this space to share thoughts, projects, stories, artwork and more with the larger Middlebury community and most especially, our beloved Posse Plusses and Posse Alumni. Feel free to snoop around and give feedback to our contributors!

Questions or concerns? Please contact Lance Sun ( ysun@middlebury.edu) or Shipnia Bytyqi (sbytyqi@middlebury.edu) or just comment directly on this post!

Spring 2012 Updates

Hello everyone!

Middlebury College Winter Scene

In just less than a year, the Posse at Middlebury Blog has outgrown the limitations of hosting a dedicated blog on the Middlebury College server. After careful deliberations, we have decided to host the blog independently.

What this means is that the blog will be getting a brand new domain name, facelift to the homepage and easier and better accessibility for our writers. In the meantime, we ask you to please bear with us while we put the content side of the blog on hold and check out the grand surplus of articles in our archive.

Warmly,
The Middlebury Posse Family
