rosary beads

A necklace worn to keep count of the number of Hail Marys said as the mysteries  are contemplated. As one recites the prayers, he moves his fingers along the beads. By not having to count his prayers, one is able to “meditate on the mysteries.” Rosary beads are split into decades (a group of ten beads) with one large bead separating each decade. The Hail Mary is said on the ten beads of the decade while the Lord’s Prayer is said on the large bead before each decade.
