The Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising (OPIA) at Harvard Law School seeks 4 undergraduates to work as Public Interest Fellows for the upcoming summer.
OPIA is staffed by a team of dedicated attorney advisors and a dynamic administrative team and provides career counseling and support to thousands of law students and alumni every year who are interested in pursuing public service work during the summer or as part of their long-term career goals.
While this position is not a legal internship, it does offers broad exposure to the legal profession, particularly for someone contemplating a career in public interest law, and someone interested in law school generally.
OPIA is seeking students with a background or strong interest in public service as well as prior experience working in an office environment. Our summer interns will also have the opportunity to take part in a lunch series exploring several aspects of public interest law and have the opportunity to participate in community service activities. Last summer, OPIA hosted over 15 speakers throughout the course of 10 weeks.
