Congressional Leadership Development Program

Deadline 02/04/2019 at 5pm PST/8PM EST

WHAT IS THE CLDP?
The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) teamed up to create the Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) to develop tomorrow’s American Muslim leaders. Simply put, we’re cultivating the next Mayors, City Councilors, Members of Congress, CEOs and non-profit Executive Directors.

We provide the right leadership tools
As a fellow, you will learn essential leadership tools in a classroom setting, then be placed in real-world situations to put what you learned into practice.

We place fellows into Capitol Hill internship positions
Walk the halls of Congress with Senators, Congressman and policy makers, gain an understanding of the policy making process from an insider’s perspective, and interact with a network of thousands of interns from across the nation who are also passionate about social change.

We provide networking and mentorship opportunities
CLDP fellows attend leadership and professional development courses twice a week. The classes are designed to challenge conventional thinking and instill leadership qualities in theory and practice.

All applicants who apply for a CLDP internship must be:
Muslim, or an active member of the Muslim community
Enrolled at an accredited university in the U.S. or graduated within the last one year
Majoring in an ISF supported major
Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average
A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
An undergraduate (incoming junior-senior) or of graduate standing (excluding Ph.D.)
