Are you passionate about science that has the potential to protect the environment, enhance human health, and improve agriculture?

Now in its 18th year, Boyce Thompson Institute’s Plant Genome Research Program (PGRP) offers an opportunity to work side-by-side with plant science experts and gain experience in:

  • Genetics and Genomics
  • Molecular Biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Biotechnology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Plant Defense

Program Dates: June 3, 2019-August 9, 2019

Support: Undergraduate interns receive free housing, $1,050 for meals, travel reimbursement, and a $5,250 stipend over 10 weeks.

Internships are open to motivated and curious students, who have good foundations in biology. Some advanced coursework in chemistry, genetics, plant biology, math and computational biology is helpful, but not necessary. Interns will receive hands-on laboratory training, participate in weekly seminars and gain exposure to a range of topics in plant biology, bioinformatics, genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and more. We are also including an experiential 2-day science-communications workshop this year.

The program application deadline is Friday, February 1, 2019.
