The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

CSIS seeks a research intern to support the Simon Chair in Political Economy for Spring 2018. The Simon Chair focuses on the theory and practice of economic statecraft, from trade agreements and investment treaties to financial sanctions and export controls, and the intersection between economics, geography, and foreign policy. The geographic focus of our work is the Asia-Pacific region, with specific emphasis on U.S. economic strategy toward the region, relations with China and Japan, Eurasia’s connectivity infrastructure and economic geography, and the institutions of global economic governance.
