00_a_a_adijon_168_f_5Stefano Mula, Associate Professor of Italian and Director of the Comparative Literature Program at Middlebury College, was just in Paris to share and develop his research on medieval Latin narratives written by the Cistercian monks of the Clairvaux Abby between the 12th and 13th centuries; he spoke to graduate students in Patrick Henriet’s seminar on hagiography (“Hagiographie, idéologies cléricales et pratiques sociales au Moyen Âge”) at the Ecole pratique des hautes études (EPHE). : In addition he had time to conduct research at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, to visit with colleagues at the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) who also work on the  Cistercian exempla, and to meet with one of his undergraduate advisees who is currently during her JYA in Paris with Middlebury College’s School in France.
