The following maintenance actives are planned for this Sunday morning between 6 am and 10 am:
(1) We will be optimizing routes between our Internet border gateway routers that may result in about a 1 minute interruption of Internet connectivity between 6 and 8 am.
(2) We will be relocating network fiber connections to the buildings Stewart and Robert A. Jones house; between 7 am 10 am we expect there will be less than a 10 minute network interruption to each of these buildings.
(3) We are upgrading our Central Authentication Service (CAS) system to incorporate a new guest registration system. CAS is used to login to many of our web applications. We do not expect an interruption of the CAS system be are performing this activity during our maintenance window as a persuasion.
(4) We are upgrading the operating system on key sever farm network switches, however with recent high-availability configurations of our virtual server and storage infrastructure we will be able to migrate the affected servers to an alternative network switches in an alternative data center without interrupting service. We are scheduling during our maintenance window of 6 am to 10 am as a precaution and also as a lower demand period as the migration will require higher than normal system, storage and network resources.
