Middlebury has earned a few bragging rights when it comes to sustainability — a biomass plant that cut heating oil usage in half, an aggressive recycling program, and a sweeping plan to be carbon neutral by 2016. But there are many aspects to campus greening that are less obvious, yet still important to Middlebury’s green goals. To help give us some faces and facts to these projects, the Sustainability and Communications offices have just rolled out a new interactive campus sustainability map. Now, instead of just reading about the bike shop, for example, you can watch a short video of what goes on there. Artist Beth Adams provided the whimsical (and very much not-to-scale) illustration.
