1. Shabbat
Services will begin this week at 6pm, but Hillel will open at 5:45.  Dinner will follow.
2. Academic Forum- On Wednesday April 20th (Today) at 7:30 in Bi-Hall 220, Professor Nathan Devir will be giving a lecture titled “Judaic Cultural Variables: Convergence or Divergence ” It should be a great lecture and we hope to see you all there.
2.5 Pesach- Hillel is open during select lunch and dinner hours with kosher for Passover food as well as a kitchen in which you can prepare kosher for Passover food. Please email Zach Fenster for more information
3. Elections- We are holding elections for board positions on Friday May 6th, before services (time to be announced). Serving on the board is a great way to get more involved with Hillel and a chance for you to organize our great events.  We have a lot of open spots this year (the full list is below).  If you are interested, please start putting together a statement of intent for your desired position explaining why you want to hold the associated position.  More information as well as more complete descriptions will follow.
The positions are as follow:
Social chair-Help to organize Hillel’s two major parties as well as Hillel Hangout.
Rituals chair– Organize weekly Shabbat services.  Work with Rabbi Ira to organize the religious aspects of other holidays (especially the high holidays).
Treasurer (You need to the full year to apply)- Organize and maintain Hillel’s Finances.  Email Steve for more information about what this entails.
Secretary– Help with organizing and publicity.  Part of the responsibilities Take notes at meetings,
Academic– You organize academic events.  Of note this year has been the academic forum speakers, and in the past have included bringing in outside speakers and films.
Meals chair– Organize Shabbat meals weekly.  Your are responsible for making sure that there are meals every
