One class being offered during winter term 2011 jumped off the page for several students: Adventure Writing and Digital Storytelling. It was being led by Peter Lourie, an adventure writer who has published more than 20 books. Twelve students quickly signed up for it, not knowing exactly what would be expected of them. The assignment involved having an adventure, writing about it, and producing a digital piece. It was a daunting task but they all tackled it with enthusiasm, facing some challenges along the way but ultimately producing their own personal versions of going on an adventure.
