Alternative Spring Break
During Spring Break, Hillel will be hosting an alternative Spring Break Trip at the Kayam Farm. Kayam is a Jewish educational farm in Maryland, and we’ll spend a few days farming as well as hiking, canoeing, and biking in the Chesapeake Bay Area. If you haven’t yet made plans for Spring Break, these trips are always a blast and a meaningful way to spend a week off. Currently, there are a few spots remaining on the trip. Hebrew House?
Students, faculty, and the Hebrew Department have submitted a proposal for a Hebrew Language House for next year! We are looking for students interested in living there that have a background in Hebrew. Please email Hannah Elkin (helkin@middlebury.edu) or Steven Dunmire (sdunmire@middlebury.edu) if you’re interested. This an exciting development for Hebrew at Middlebury and we’d love to hear from you!
Have you been on Birthright? Want to go again?
The Birthright Israel Revisited Fellows program is a post birthright opportunity for 2-3 leaders on your campus created by Boston’s own Peter Bendetson( a wonderful friend of Hillel) with Taglit Birthright Israel and the Israeli government. They are looking for freshman, sophomores or juniors who have had a birthright experience and who have the potential to serve in leadership positions on your campus. The program is heavily subsidized with a cost per participant of $500 (which may be waived if there are pressing circumstances). Interested? Email me for more information.
