The Middlebury College Student Government Association (SGA) represents students in decision-making processes of the College. It acts as a single unified group addressing problems facing the student body and the campus community. It is the official channel for student participation in formulation of institutional policy affecting academic and student affairs.

The SGA is led by the President and SGA Senate (composed of commons representatives and class representatives). The President also has a cabinet staff of advisors that often chair committees of students working to address specific interest issues such as environment, academic affairs, or alumni relations.

In addition to allocating the Student Activities Fee (SAF), the SGA makes student appointments to student, joint student/faculty, and trustee councils and committees. The SGA occasionally also provides services directly to students, as deemed necessary.
