This summer brought the 100th Spanish Summer Language School session, and the campus brimmed with celebration. Seven larger-than-life banners decorated the Davis Family Library atrium, complementing an exhibition of archival materials curated by College Archivist Danielle Rougeau., and Roberto Veguez’s digital history of the Spanish School was shown on a touchscreen monitor.
The exhibit focused on the Spanish School directors throughout its history, and showed activities enjoyed by students from summers past.
On the lower level, a selection of Special Collections books about the Spanish Civil War was on display as a tribute to the many Spanish Language School professors who fled Spain during the war or during Francisco Franco’s dictatorship.
