Summer Internship: Gardening in Rural Vermont

Who doesn’t like being outside, smelling the sweet flowers, and doing a little gardening? No one, fact.

If you are interested then perhaps a summer internship of Gardening in Rural Vermont at Talbots’ Herb & and Perennial Farm in Hartland, Vermont is the opportunity you are looking for. Here’s the description:

Spend eight to ten weeks learning to grow and cultivate herbs, perennials, and annual flowers. Help reclaim and maintain older gardens and create new ones

Requires outdoor physical work, 35-40 hours per week, and a desire to become knowledgeable about the plants (nomenclature, growing requirements, etc.)

Flexible startindg date (late May – early June). Room and board provided. $1200 to $1500 stipend for the season. Looking for two interns.

Three references are required. An interview at the farm is preferred. Deadline for applications: April 15.

Site manager would work closely with board to activate guidelines during market operations. Communicate with venders, volunteers, and special activity people before and during market. Set-up and teardown coordination and lock-up. Help market grow and become self-sustaining. Nourish community, good health, and having fun in all efforts.

Mission Statement: The purpose of the LVYR Farmers Artisan Market is to encourage support for year-round sustainable agriculture & artisan work around Vermont and to provide a year-round outlet for local farmers and artisans to sell products.
