Creating our wiki- first steps

I was really pleased by what we learned on Monday.  Thanks go out to Brenda!

So to get started, a reminder.  By class tomorrow, each of you must (a) have an entry for your topic on our wiki (most of you have already done this); (b) write something in the entry about your topic that the rest of us don’t know and (c) properly reference what you have written with a footnote, following the approach that Brenda showed us on Monday.  And please use the comments section here to share tips on how to do this! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

    Referencing is actually easy. After the sentence, simply put with no spaces between the last word and at, copy and past the citation in and then end it with.

    You may also want to embed an image as I did with the ‘Global Warming Solution’ banner. To do this;

    1. First, you need to upload the file by clicking on ‘upload file’ on the left hand column under ‘tool box’ and browse it from wherever it is saved.
    2. Give it a ‘destination file name’ (this is important). save it preferably as a jpg.
    3. hit ‘upload’
    4. In the edit mode and on the page that you want to embed the image, type [[Image: ‘destination file name’.jpg]],
    or if you are feeling lazy, simply click the icon (embedded image) and replace ‘example’ by the file name.
    You ‘re all set.
