Senior Director of Project Management, Litigation Technology
Katie Perekslis-Schmitt graduated in 2006 with a degree in French and WAGS. She started her career in New York City as a Project Manager in the translation industry at TransPerfect Translations. About seven years ago, she transitioned into a role in Litigation Technology and built out the Hosting and Project Management teams for TransPerfect Legal Solutions’ eDiscovery business. She has enjoyed being part of a rapidly growing and fast-paced industry, taking her team from two people in a tiny office in New York, to a global team of over 40 analysts and Project Managers. In 2009, close friend and fellow middkid and WAGS major, Gillian Wood founded a non-profit called Resilience Rising, whose mission is to offer safety, healing, and empowerment to survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking through a long-term residential care program. From the beginning, Katie has been active on the board of Resilience Rising and was recently elected Chair of the Board. She is passionate about the cause and excited to be a part of the journey of raising funding, renovating the house and yard, and finalizing the licensing applications to be able to open Resilience Rising’s doors to residents this winter. Katie now lives in Stamford, CT with her husband, Tom Schmitt (Middlebury ’06), and bichon frisé, Rocky. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, yoga, going to the beach, reading, eating, wine tasting, and traveling.
