News from Oxford: Summer 2013
0September 6, 2013 by Tom McKenna
Though thousands of miles from their students and their jobs as teachers, members of the Bread Loaf Teacher Network at Oxford, England, maintained a steady presence at Lincoln College during the summer. Highlights included engaging presentations by veteran BLTN members Chris Moore (OH) and Susannah Kilbourne (KY), in addition to new BLTN members Nathan Fisher (PA) and Jill Kelley (VT).
In addition, BLTN/Oxford hosted two local Oxford educators, Professor James Methven (Oriel College, Oxford University ) and Instructor Danielle Costa (Cheney School, Oxford) for a panel discussion on educational similarities and differences between the British and American systems. Fifteen students attended the lively discussion in the chapel. BLTN Coordinator at Oxford Paul Barnwell (KY) worked with interested teachers on using technology in the classroom to link far-flung BLTN classrooms in collaborative studies during the upcoming school year.
