Transition announcements will recognize College employees who applied for and were hired for posted job openings. In this post we extend our congratulations to Dana Barrow on her transition!

On August 28, 2012 Dana transitioned into her new role as the Senior Employer Relations Coordinator in the Center for Education in Action. Dana has been employed at the College since 2001 and most recently held the position of Operations Director for the Language Schools. Don Kjelleren, Director of Career Services, shares that Dana’s positive nature and responsiveness have already made her a valued member of the EIA team. In fact, Dana recently met with a managing director of a major bank – an effort on her part that has resulted in several divisions of the firm aligning their recruiting efforts, ultimately creating more internship postings for our students. Don adds that “Dana is a wonderful addition to the EIA staff and I look forward to working with her in the future!”

On July 23, 2012 Jessica transitioned into her new role as a Custodial Team Leader in Facilities Services. Jessica has been employed at the College since 2010 as a Custodian in the same department. Jessica’s supervisor Gene Tougas shares that she is a very hard worker who has a wonderful sense of humor and is a pleasure to work with. Gene adds that “She is a valuable asset to Facilities Services and Middlebury College.”

On September 26, 2011, Charlene transitioned into her new role as the assistant to the dean of admissions. Charlene has been employed at the College since 2008 and has held positions as the leadership gifts assistant and leadership gifts associate in College Advancement. Gregory Buckles, dean of admissions, shares that Charlene is an outstanding employee who was able to walk into a newly created role and earn everyone’s respect with her good nature, work ethic, and excellent skills. The Admissions Office loves having her as a part of the team!

Transition announcements will recognize College employees who applied for and were hired for posted job openings. In this post we extend our congratulations to Nat Caldwell on his transition!

On October 10, 2011, Nat transitioned into his new role as the director of prospect research in College Advancement. Nat has been employed at the College since 2003 and has held a variety of positions in College Advancement during this time, focusing on prospect and research analysis and development. Ann Crumb, associate vice president for College Advancement administration and gift planning, shares that Nat brings extraordinary experience and energy to his position by supporting fundraisers at Middlebury and Monterey via explanations of financial and industry trends, finding connections, and identifying potential supporters of the College. “We are fortunate to have him leading this department,” Crumb said.

On September 12, 2011 Melissa transitioned into her new role as the Administrative Associate in the Bread Loaf School of English office. Melissa has been employed at the College since 2004 and has held positions as the Employment Assistant and Employment Coordinator in the Human Resources office.

On August 8, 2011, Janie transitioned into her new role as the director of parent giving in the College Advancement Office. Janie has been employed at the College since 2006 and has held positions as senior development officer and senior leadership gift officer in College Advancement.

Now that we have had some time to catch up on new employee introductions, we’re pleased to begin including transition announcements in the Middpoints blog. Transition announcements will recognize College employees who applied for and were hired for posted job openings. In this post we extend our congratulations to Jessie Jerry on her transition!

On July 25, 2011 Jessie was hired as the office and budget manager in the Department of Student Activities. Jessie has been employed by the College since 2008 and has held positions as the administrative assistant, operations manager, and administrative scheduling assistant with the Language Schools and MMLA. JJ Boggs, associate dean of students for Student Activities and Orientation, shares that “Jessie brings a wealth of experience from her previous campus jobs to her current role as the office and budget manager for Student Activities. In her short time with us, she’s reorganized the office and developed systems that have greatly improved our efficiency and effectiveness. We’re extremely lucky to have her on our team!”
