Dear Colleagues:

Welcome back to a new year at Middlebury. I hope you enjoyed a productive and wonderful summer.

I write to share with you the latest edition of the Student Resource Guide. The guide introduces students to what we value and highlights key campus resources that allow them to have fun, be safe, find help, and become active, engaged members of our community. In addition, we created the Student-Athlete Resource Guide that highlights valuable information relevant to being an athlete at Middlebury. Although these guides should not be confused with Middlebury’s official College Handbook, which provides the complete text of all College policies, they offer an overview of some of the most important of those policies and the goals behind them.

While we wrote and designed these guides with students in mind, we think they will be a useful resource for faculty and staff, too, as you work closely with students. New students, residential life staff, new faculty, and first-year seminar faculty received a printed copy of the Student Resource Guide during Orientation. Other faculty and staff may access the guide by visiting go/resourceguide. We have distributed a limited number of guides to locations throughout campus, so if you would like one, you may pick one up. The Student-Athlete Resource Guide is available by visiting http://www.middlebury.edu/athletics/studentathleteinfo.

Warmly,

Shirley M. Collado
Dean of the College
