A TEDx event is a local, independently-organized gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community.

This year’s theme is “Truth & Dare” and is about considering the binary and what can be done to venture beyond. This theme examines the contentions of truth and the “dare” to defy what society holds self-evident in the 21st century. It is an attempt to challenge humanity’s subjective truths while simultaneously considering our capabilities and limitations. Topics will span a variety of “truths”, but regardless of the specifics, will each be presented with elements of sincerity and innovation. This will be done in a variety of ways, from attempting to update truths that are believed to be the status-quo to completely creating a new truth for certain concepts. In any form, Truth & Dare is a space to explore the theoretical frameworks we have developed in hopes of breaking free from the very systems we have built. It risks picking apart the structures that our world has put in place to keep in order our identities, communities, and more, with the daring objective to find intellectual freedom for all.
