With his talk entitled “Train American,” Ryan Kim ’14 has won the TEDxMidd Student Speaker Competition! Congratulations, Ryan!

We look forward to working closely with Ryan in the coming months as he prepares to present at TEDxMiddlebury 2013: The Road Not Taken. Make sure to support Ryan on March 9th!

1st Runner Up: Daniel Egol, “Cuba, a State Sponsor of Terrorism”
2nd Runner Up: Joseph Putko, “Cosmic Planetary Potential: How Astronomy Can Make the World a Better Place”

We had eleven amazing speakers perform in our first ever student speaker competition. A big thanks to you eleven brave students. You have helped initiate what will hopefully become a tradition for TEDxMiddlebury on campus. Also, a big shout out to all the people who came out to watch, support, and eat all the free food!

A special thanks goes to our four judges:
Shirley Collado: Middlebury Dean of the College
Erin Quinn: Middlebury Director of Athletics
Alex Draper: Middlebury Assistant Professor of Theater
Pam Michaelcheck: TEDster, Middlebury Parent
We asked Middlebrow Improv to make a video for the competition…here it is.
