Congratulations Brett Gilman, ‘24.5, on Watson Fellowship

Brett Gilman ’24.5 has been awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, a one-year, $40,000 grant for self-guided exploration outside of the United States. Gilman is an independent scholar who designed his own major around socio-ecological studies in landscape architecture. He plans to travel to five countries—the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Singapore, and Australia—to study landscape design movements

Research Opportunity for CompSci and Engineering Majors –  Apps Due Feb. 14 (midnight ET)

This summer research opportunity is hosted at UConn’s National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT), one of the nation’s premier research centers supporting the navy and shipbuilder. This ten- week program enables participants to work on federally-funded projects on underwater vehicle technologies, includes a $6500 stipend,housing, meals, and transportation to UConn’s main campus in Storrs, CT. Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Programs provide funding for recent grads to earn an interdisciplinary master’s in three or more European countries. From space medicine to global environment and development to animation, there’s lots of exciting opportunities to choose from. Deadlines vary by program but are typically between December and January.
