The Columbia Undergraduate Science Journal, Columbia University’s undergraduate-run, open-access science journal is currently accepting submissions for the 2025 issue. Apply to Participate in the Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) – Deadline January 2, 2025 

The Yenching Global Symposium (YGS), the annual flagship conference of the Yenching Academy of Peking University, invites Midd students and alumni to join YGS 2025. This year’s symposium theme is “Fortitude: Navigating the Tides of Change.” The symposium will delve into “fortitude” through three distinct dimensions: international, national and personal fortitude, through multiple diverse perspectives. It is a fully funded three-day interdisciplinary conference exploring topics from international diplomacy and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in addressing climate and societal challenges, to advancements in health and the profound impact of art. YGS 2025 will take place in China, from April 17 to 20, 2025, and it provides an opportunity for future leaders to gather and share insights disciplines. Delegates will be able to interact with scholars and leading industry professionals to explore China’s role on the global stage.

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Be born after May,1994
  • Be in at least in your final year of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and above
  • Commit yourself to the entirety of the Symposium from April 17 to 20
  • Be proficient in English
  • Never have attended any previous YGS or Yenching Social Innovation Forums
  • Have a strong interest in China

Harvard’s Scholarship and Social Justice Conference – Submissions Open Mid-Dec. 

The Center for Public Service and Engaged Scholarship at Harvard College will host the annual Scholarship and Social Justice Undergraduate Research Conference in April 2025. This conference is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students who are conducting research on social challenges impacting underrepresented groups. The goal – to create a platform for students to share insights, connect with peers, and engage with faculty and experts in the field. Students from all years are welcome to apply.

Teaching Assistant Roles in Austria for 2025-26 – Apply by Jan. 15, 2025 

The US Teaching Assistantship (USTA) Program managed by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), is now seeking applicants for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach in Austrian classrooms and serve as an ambassador of the US. This opportunity is open to US citizens (dual citizenship okay), with a completed bachelor’s degree by summer 2025 with intermediate proficiency in German.
