Shepherd Poverty Internship Program (paid)

The Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty integrates rigorous academic study and focused direct service to disadvantaged communities and persons, enriching the education of undergraduate and law students in all majors and career paths. The intent of this program is to prepare students for lives aimed at diminishing poverty and enhancing human capability through professional and civic efforts.

Middlebury’s Community Engagement office will be participating in this poverty studies internship program that places students in agencies that serve disadvantaged communities through the Shepherd Alliance based at Washington and Lee University. Middlebury will select and send up to five summer interns, who will join a total of nearly 100 peers from other campuses. A stipend and housing are provided.
