Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

CDC/ATSDR’s National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) is offering a 10-week summer internship program for students in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, and other related majors to take place June 9-August 13, 2010. During the course of the internship, students are introduced to environmental health at the federal level through project collaboration, experiential learning opportunities, individual environmental health presentations, journal clubs, field trips, brown bag lunches, and through shadowing and mentoring relationships at CDC/ATSDR.

Danville Regional Foundation (DRF)

Danville Regional Foundation is interested in the development of the next generation of well educated young leaders in the region. The Internship Program will identify 10 talented well-educated young people to help further the mission of DRF in the region through hands-on project-focused work and conceptual learning in the field of philanthropy. This program offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and a chance to make a difference in our community.

Girls’ LEAP Self-Defense

Girls’ LEAP has 3 positions available for full-time (35 hours/week) summer interns. The opportunity is available for undergraduate or post-graduate women who can work from June 10 – August 19, 2010 (dates to be confirmed). Responsibilities would include working with Girls’ LEAP staff to support and implement girls’ self-defense and empowerment programs in underserved communities within Greater Boston and acting as an assistant teacher (“Teaching Woman”) in summer Girls’ LEAP Standard programs. An intern would also supervise a small team of teens who are enrolled in Girls’ LEAP’s Teen Mentor Summer Program
