In this post, we’ll introduce you to a new member of the Middlebury College staff. Please join us as we welcome Ben to campus!
Ben joined the Student Creativity, Engagement and Careers team at Middlebury College in September 2017. He has played a key role in optimizing communication and leadership at local organizations such as Vermont Public Radio and global firms including ManuLife and All Nippon Airways. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire, is credentialed by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching and the International Coach Federation, and has taught executive coaching skills through ICF accredited coaching schools. Ben’s management coaching style is based on a wide range of business experience, from work at MFS Investment Management and Sun Life Financial for the 5 years surrounding the last recession to starting an organic food company and growing distribution to over 30 stores in less than a year.
Ben’s passion for developing future leaders is at the forefront of his work with Oratory Now, his service as a MiddCORE mentor and workshop facilitator, and as a volunteer for coaching and leadership programs at Babson College and Suffolk University. Ben has won two national championships and a transatlantic yacht race as a professional sailor, and now lives in Cornwall with his wife Erin (Middlebury class of 2012) and their son Henry (class of 2040?).
