Food loss, meaning food wasted before it reaches a consumer, accounts for 64% of all edible food that is lost. With the support of helpful toolkits and funding from Net Impact, Fellows will host a 90 minute event to raise awareness and generate solutions on a topic that has a major impact on the food supply and on climate: food loss. All participants will have the opportunity to submit their solutions to the Food Solutions Challenge for a chance to attend a paid capstone event in the San Francisco Bay Area to sharpen their design thinking skills and refine their solutions. The top three teams will win $5,000, $1,000 and $500 in seed funding to turn their ideas into action.
Receive:

  • Resume and leadership development experience
  • $125 hosting stipend (for food and prizes to attract attendees)
  • An event toolkit, including a PPT deck, scripts, case studies, and a facilitator’s guide
  • An outreach toolkit to help you market your event
