Our regular recap of goings on at the College and a look ahead to events on the horizon.
As always, we hope to call your attention to items that captured ours and alert you to events that you won’t want to miss. If you have a news item that you think we’d be interested in, drop us a line at middmag@middlebury.edu.
- “Picking Up Butch” aired on ESPN’s E:60 newsmagazine program this week and is now available to be viewed online. Folks, this is not to be missed. Be warned: Tears may be shed.
- The much anticipated Cross Street Bridge opened last weekend. The celebration marking the opening was well attended despite chilly weather, and there is a noticeable difference (for the better) in traffic flow in town.
- If you are still searching for political coverage in the wake of Tuesday’s mid-term elections, Political Science Professor Matt Dickinson offers this in-depth and fascinating non-partisan analysis.
- So, fall color has left most, if not all, of our trees, but College horticulturalist Tim Parsons managed to capture the season’s grand finale last week.
- President Liebowitz has a new post over at Ron on Middlebury. His topic: foreign language instruction at the secondary school level.
- The art history department will be moving to the Mahaney Center for the Arts next summer (architecture will remain in Johnson). To make room for the department, the music library will move from the CFA to the Davis Library.
- There’s a new blog on campus. It’s worth checking out.
