Once every year or so, Middlebury’s student-run Bike Shop puts up for sale the abandoned bikes that Public Safety has collected over time; proceeds from the sale go toward the purchase of new equipment for bike repairs.
A few weeks ago, 80-odd bicycles were made available for purchase. On a Saturday morning at precisely 9, the selling commenced. By 9:15 the bikes were all gone. Our own Nikhil Ramburn ’10 was there to chronicle the frenzy.
