We’ll be completing the FYS Mentor placements for the fall in the next week. Then we’ll be starting on Mentor assignments for spring 2011!
You might be wondering how we make these assignments. You start the process in the spring or fall when you fill out your future plans form! In May or June, we share information about you to faculty teaching First-Year Seminars in the fall. At that time, faculty who may have had you in class, choose you to work with their FYSEs. After that, we contact faculty with recommendations based on the contents of the FYSE and the courses you have taken until all the matches are made.
