Military Power

The United States spends the largest amount on its military by far, with a budget greater than the combined budgets of the next 10 largest countries, and projects this power through military bases and personnel stationed overseas, including prominent bases and smaller “lily pad” locations. While some argue this promotes stability and security, others raise concerns about the sociopolitical problems caused by overseas bases, questioning whether projecting military power globally truly prevents violence or could potentially aggravate conflicts.
