Despite global efforts such as the Millennium Development Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals to address these issues, significant disparities persist, particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the context of gender inequality, with various organizations working to empower women while facing criticism for potentially imposing Western values.
