Kate Sadoff

Kate Sadoff, Middlebury Class of 2023.5, is an English major on the Creative Writing track with a minor in Environmental Studies. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has loved getting to know Vermont through her time at Middlebury. Curious to understand Judaism in her own life, as it was secularly passed down from her father’s family of Brooklyn Jews, Kate participated in this project to learn about the practice of Oral History and the intersection between Judaism and activism in New York City. A fellow with Middlebury’s Narrative Journalism Fellowship, Kate has devoted much of her time finding outlets to share other’s stories. The Kolot Chayeinu Oral History Project has become another place for her to channel this love of storytelling. Her favorite part of this experience has been getting to know Kolot as a community, and learning what it means to truly listen and develop trust through this vulnerable— and radical— act of sharing. Kate is so excited to share her interview with Yonii Bock as part of the archive.
