Caroline Segal (interviewer)

Caroline Segal is a junior at Middlebury College studying Political Science and also planning to minor in French and Sociology. She was born and raised in Glencoe, IL, a suburb 30 minutes north of Chicago. Caroline is passionate about government and social issues like voting rights, gender equality, and the environment. She hopes to one day work at the intersection of government and social justice, which is a reason she was drawn to this project. Caroline interviewed Phillip Saperia during Phase 1 of the project, which was an absolute pleasure. Caroline admires that both Phillip and Kolot Chayeinu itself are committed to social justice and creating an accepting congregation. She is thrilled that she can contribute to the Kolot Chayeinu Oral History project because these core themes will be recorded forever. Outside of the classroom, Caroline is a member of the Varsity field hockey team at Middlebury. She loves the support network that being on a team provides to her and the experience of playing the sport she loves in college. Caroline likes to be active whether it is skiing, going on long walks, or trying new workout classes. She also is a big foodie and is always willing to try a new food or restaurant.
