Turgenev

Ivan Turgenev was Born 1818 in Orel Russia.  Turgenev grew up in the countryside and as a Russian aristocrat. Ivan Turgenev was a Novelist, short story writer and a playwright. Turgenev is one of the most renowned writers of the 19th.  Turgenev’s controversial writing about the emancipation of serf had him greatly criticized in Russia. In his later life Turgenev moved to Western Europe. His move was most likely due to his criticism in Russia and his love for Pauline Viardot.  Turgenev continued to write about Russian life in Western Europe and eventually died there.
