Ryan Greguski (’25) and Lindsay Lessing (’25) presented their research at the 2025 Spring Symposium. Lindsay’s presentation was titled, “Developing a Microscope to Image Thicker Samples in the Infrared.” Ryan’s poster was titled, “Building a Structure Illumination Microscope.”
Mohamed Dafaalla (’26) and Lindsay Lessing (’25) presented their research at the undergraduate research symposium online on September 23, 2024 in Denver, CO. The Symposium on Undergraduate Research is held in conjunction with the annual joint meeting of Optical (formerly the Optical Society (OSA)) and the Division of Laser Science of the American Physical Society (APS-DLS). Their poster was titled, “Two-Photon Imaging of Near-Infrared Fluorescence using Temporal Focusing.”

The Charles B. Allen ’62 Memorial Prize was awarded to Jewel Ashbrook in May 2024. The prize is awarded to a senior who has excelled in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, and who has contributed to the spirit of Middlebury through participation in extracurricular activities.
Jewel Ashbrook (’24) and Hazel Loretta T. (’24) presented their research at the 2024 Spring Symposium. Jewel’s poster was titled, “An All-Reflective Laser-Scanning Confocal Microscope.” Hazel’s poster was titled, “Laser Illumination in a Microscope with a Rotating Diffuser.”
