0October 4, 2015 by Tom McKenna
Drawing from hours of onsite footage, Mad River Media’s Ed Dooley released two versions of a video documentary on the Food Literacy collaborations among youth and teachers on the Navajo Nation and at Fern Creek Traditional High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Following the release of this video story (short version is below), participating BLTNers were invited to discuss the project in a webinar with members of the National Writing Project’s Educator Innovator project.

The archive of the Educator Innovator conversation with Rex Lee Jim, Evelyn Begody, Damián Baca, and Tom McKenna, hosted by Christina Cantrill and Chris Rogers of the National Writing Project is below. “With projects like the Navajo Kentuckians what we see is a diversion, a shift away from some of those earlier (colonial) models, and towards something that is fully collaborative that is fully immersed in a wide range of communities.”—Professor Damián Baca (24:30)
