Middlebury will experience a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8 at 3:27 pm. To make the most of the upcoming solar eclipse, Middlebury College has organized several activities for faculty, staff, and students.

We encourage you to visit our website to learn more about the upcoming activities, lectures, and the solar eclipse. We hope that these offerings will enhance your overall experience and enjoyment of this unique phenomenon, where Middlebury is in the line of the eclipse totality.

One of the events we have planned is a viewing party on Battell Beach, located between Pearsons Hall and Battell Hall, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. We will provide proper glasses to anyone who needs them for safe viewing of the eclipse. At Battell Beach, the eclipse’s totality will start shortly after 3:27 p.m. and will last for about one minute.
