Required workshops for faculty, November 21, 2014

All full-time and part-time benefits-eligible faculty must attend this or one of the makeup sessions on December 3rd or January 14.

 

  • 30-minute workshop on active threat response, led by Jen Kazmierczak (Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator) and Melody Perkins (Associate Director of Public Safety)
  • 75-minute workshop on faculty reporting requirements, as mandated by the Violence Against Women Act, led by Sue Ritter (Human Relations Officer) and Karen Guttentag (Associate Dean for Judicial Affairs and Student Life), followed by 15 minutes of Q & A on this topic.

Carol Rifelj Lecture Series: Professor Edward Vazquez

Professor Edward Vazquez, Department of History of Art and Architecture, will speak on Wednesday, November 5 at 4:30pm on, “Reading Fred Sandbeck’s Sculpture: Permutation and Artist’s Books in the 1970s”.  All are welcome to attend.  The Orchard Room, Hillcrest 103.  Refreshments will be served.

Kevin Moss, Jean Thomson Fulton Professorship of Modern Languages and Literature, will speak on “Russia’s Queer Science: The Theoretical Underpinnings of Russia’s Law Against Gay Propaganda” at the Orchard Room of the Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest, Oct. 22, 4:30 pm.

Faculty discussion group on governance, Oct. 17th

The Working Group on Faculty Governance and the Faculty Council invite you to attend group discussions on the newly proposed governance framework.  The meetings will be held on Friday, Oct. 17th beginning at 2:45 p.m.  The meetings will be followed by a happy hour with light refreshments in the Axinn Winter Garden.  Below find the grid for determining which group you should attend.

Grants Recipients Reception, 51 Main, 10/16, 4:30 pm

The Dean of the Faculty and Dean for Faculty Development and Research invite you to a reception in honor of those who were awarded a grant or fellowship in 2013-14.
