Middlebury Top Producer of Fulbrights!

A shout out to all those excellent Fulbright applicants who helped make Middlebury a top producer of Fulbrighters for 2014-15! We have 12 grantees this year, pursuing research or teaching English all over the globe–Columbia, Germany, Spain, Russia, Brazil, China, Jordan, India, Poland and Ecuador. Rising seniors and young alumni, now is an excellent time to be thinking about a Fulbright application! Preliminary applications are due April 15; our final on-campus deadline will be in September.

Summer Research Opportunities at Multiple Locations–Read on!

Applications are now being accepted for Middlebury students seeking summer research positions with faculty at multiple locations:  Albany College of Pharmacy Vermont Campus, Vermont VA Medical Center, UVM medical school or other institutions in the NE IDeA region (New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Delaware that have institutions like Jackson Labs, Maine Medical Center and Delaware State University).  The stipend ($4,562) and workman’s compensation totals $5,000 for each student. $1,000 per student will also be provided in the subcontract for supplies or travel.  Additional funds for travel and accommodations will be made available if the student internship is out of state.
 
Applications must be completed online by the student.  Students will select a priority institution and be matched with an investigator doing research in a subject area of interest to the student.  The due date is be February 20, 2015.  The information and application can be found at VGN Undergraduate Student Summer Research Support 2015.

·         Current AAS, BS, MS, and PhD students – Majors related to Engineering, Earth and Geosciences, Environmental and Marine Sciences, Life Health and Medical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, International Relations, Political Science, Government, Policy, Risk Analysis, and Computer Science

·         Stipend based on academic status

·         Travel/Housing assistance (if eligible)

·         Full-time and part-time appointments

·         Professional development activities

·         Minimum GPA  – 3.0/4.0

·         Open to U.S. and Eligible International Citizenship
