As part of the new master plan, the college created a rigorous set of design standards for new construction and major renovations so that energy efficiency improvements are integrated into all projects. The recent renovation of the McCullough Student Center and the renovation of the Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest, which was awarded a Platinum LEED certification by the US Green Building Council, are examples of this commitment to sustainable design.
