Insider/outsider tensions

When skimming through the 285 issues of Vermont Life released throughout the magazine’s 72yr long run, the insider-outsider tensions between “real” Vermonters and tourists may not be obvious. After all, the magazine was a marketing tool which showcased Vermont’s beautiful scenery and charming peculiarities to attract tourists. But when taking a closer look through the magazine’s articles, we find that this is a story of dependence vs resentment. To give greater insight on insider-outsider relations, we’re going to be using our podcast to discuss articles centered around tourism throughout the magazine’s run.
