The Wire has started airing on the other side of the pond. I’m anxious to see how the show is received over there, as it seems to be uniquely designed for an American audience. So far, the reception has been overwhelming positive. Here are a couple of articles about it – nothing groundbreaking in terms of analysis, but it’s a development certainly worth keeping an eye on over the next few weeks.

Yeah, I’m well psyched about this! I got a couple of excited emails from my friends telling me about it at the start of the month. I’m not sure how many of them have managed to keep up with it because it’s on every night, but whatever, better every night on BBC2 than at random intervals on FX…
Also you can’t post Telegraph and Times articles and forget The Guardian, I mean, come on, it’s The Wire, Simon’s and Burns would want you throw in the lefty newspaper!
So here, its better than the other stuff:

Bah! They call “The Corner” a prequel! Damn leftist rag!
I am sorry but I just want to be super cautious if I read these am I going to read any spoilers?
The Times and The Telegraph articles are safe but not overly interesting (The Times is actually quite funny, it’s very British), with The Guardian page you have to be more careful- don’t read any of the re-up stuff but the rest doesn’t give away any major spoilers, that being said, some articles do comment on events we haven’t seen. So if you want to be completely safe just leave it, but most of the articles on the right side of the page are good to read.
