1987:

1986: This was Coach David Saward’s first season with the Lady Panthers. Co-Captains for the 1985-1986 season were Cathy Abrams and Margaret Clark. That season, the team earned the Clarence E. Chaffee award (more information can be found on the Women’s Awards and Championships page).

1985:

1984: Finished with a final record of 14-4, the best since the sport began  in 1976, and marked the eighth straight season with a .500 record or better.

1983: Finished ninth in the Howe Cup at Yale University.

1982: The ’82 team finished with an overall record of 9-8. Laura Thomas and Anne Geary, who played the top two spots all year both qualified for the National Competition at Harvard.

1981:

1980: This year’s team enjoyed tremendous success, finishing with a final record of 13-5, a true improvement from past years which had remained closer to .500. This is also the first year that the team beat Trinity. Midd was also represented by Senior Co-captains Lillie Doubledday and Karen Mayfield, as well as Lisa Moran and Junior Amy Herring at the National Women’s Championships at Princeton University. Middlebury finished eighth out of nineteen schools.
