Sunday, January 24 at Noon
Redfield Proctor
Brunch will be served!
Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are invited to the first event in It’s Not What You Think, a new storytelling series that explores life’s unexpected twists and turns. The series is part of a multi-pronged initiative to help foster resilience that includes spaces for reflection, increased access to counseling, workshops, and storytelling.
It’s Not What You Think, which will feature stories from members of the college community, will bring us together around stories of the unanticipated ways that life unfolds, including failures, defeats, tragedies, and radical life changes. Each event will begin with a featured storyteller (or two), followed by discussion of our shared experiences weathering unforeseen events.
This first event features alumnus Brandon Hawkins (Middlebury Class of 2011) and Professor of American Studies and Director of the CCSRE and the Anderson Freeman Resource Center, Roberto Lint Sagarena. For more information on this event—and updates on future events—visit go/INWYT. All are welcome to attend, but because of space limitations, we ask that you please RSVP to Professor Rachael Joo by the end of the day Thursday, January 21.
If you have a story that you would like to share at a future event, please contact Professor Rachael Joo.
This series is sponsored by the offices of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Student Affairs.
